Adebayor's sister hits back at Togo football star

'We established him but we understand if he doesn't want to help us out, but at least he should help our mother out'

The family of Emmanuel Adebayor have launched a scathing attack on the Tottenham Hotspur star, calling him a "womaniser" and a spendthrift who has forgotten his beginnings.

The blow up is in response to an earlier interview granted Accra based radio station Peace FM by the Togo star in which he claimed his mother and sisters were using black magic to plot against him.
His family responded by appearing at the station during a sports programme to respond to the allegations, with his sister Margaret leading the charge.
"Adebayor is a womanizer who spends his money on women. When his wife was unable to get pregnant,we called him and asked him to allow us to help her but he refused because he knew he had other women," Margaret said.
She also further claimed that the family helped established him in his football career. She made references to the various fasting and prayer sessions they held for him even when he was at Real Madrid.
"We established him, and we understand that he doesn't want to help us out, but at least he should help our mother out. Now he can speak big-big English, all we want is that he doesn't forget us," she added.
However, according to the footballer who was also on call, he actually has been helping the family members. He claimed to have on several occasions, sent money down to his siblings. Adebayor however went on to lament about how the money he sends down to establish business is used for ventures that continually fail.
The sister actually confirmed this but insisted that all that she was expecting was that "he set up a big establishment for the mother". Adebayor replied that he "did not have that money" and he is afraid the little he has, his family members will squander.
According to Adebayor, for the kind of establishment they have in mind, he would need millions of Dollars, which he claims not to have.
Peace FM presenter, Abeiku Santana, moved to have the issue settled off-air amicably to which the footballer responded, "I don't know the way out" .
