Christian Bale exits Steve Jobs biopic:

The Academy Award winner had joined the Danny Boyle-directed, Aaron Sorkin-written flick that's based on Walter Isaac's authoritative biography of Jobs, but decided that he wasn't right fit to play the late Apple co-founder.

Christian Bale has reportedly bailed out of the much-anticipated biopic about the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, according to the Hollywood Reporter

Sources told the trade publication that the 40-year-old Academy Award winner had deliberated for a while on the plum role — but ultimately decided he wasn't a good fit for the Danny Boyle-directed film

Bale's exit comes just over a week after screenwriter Aaron Sorkin confirmed to Bloomberg Television that the production had landed the actor

"We needed the best actor on the board in a certain range and that's Christian Bale," Sorkin said at the time. "I couldn't be more excited

"It's an extremely difficult part and he's just going to crush it.

Based on Walter Isaac's authoritative biography of Jobs, the Sony production has been closely followed by Hollywood insiders and Seth Rogen is reportedly in talks to play the other Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak

Bale had also reportedly been at the top of David Fincher's wish-list for the still untitled project, back when the "Gone Girl" director was attached to helm the movie

The new flick is not to be confused with indie drama "Jobs," in which Ashton Kutcher played the computing icon

Boyle is said to be in California this week to meet with actors and actresses about the movie.
